wrong.
block schedule at the other schools works like this
Monday 0-1-2-3-4-lunch-5-6 (one hour each)
Tuesday 0-1-3-lunch-5 (two hours each except 0 period)
Wednesday 0-2-4-lunch-6
Thursday 0-1-3-lunch-5
Friday 0-2-4-lunch-6
modify days are monday.
No you dont get extra classes to take
And yes you do get two days to do homework but you have twice the homework because you are doing say two one hour lessons in one day

both have pros and cons

Block schedule does seem like a better idea. Though many students think it'd be impossible to sit through 2 hours for one class, it's not that bad. I mean we do it for finals, right? And I really like the part about more classes being available to the student and 2 days for assignments. The rest of HBUHSD (except for one other high school I think) is block schedule, why can't we be?

It shouldn't matter if we have to get up two hours earlier than most students. If we're losing sleep because we have homework, we should sleep one hour earlier the night before and get the homework done during the hour after zero period.

Why can't our school be blocked scheduled? Sure longer class periods, but there would then be 4 classes each day that you take every other day, so a total of 8 classes that are offered to students.

And then if students wanted, they can still have a zero period which lets them get a max total of 9 classes.

It's not like the teachers have to teach more students or anything right? and also kids get 2 days to do each assignment.

It seems like a win-win situation yes? Sure, each class would be about 2 times longer, but I have faith in the average Fountain Valley-an student (that they would have focus to concentrate through the class) and teacher (that they would prepare enough to stuff the class time with).

If this isn't possible... why?

Grouchy teachers? I've never head anything more ridiculous...
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that adolescents need more sleep than adults.

0-period kids should have a protest! Like, we all show up at 8 o'clock on modified instead of 7, and head to our 0-periods as if it's totally normal.
