In all regards, this should be a bad love song. It contains no eloquent lyrics for girls to swoon over.
It boasts a modest, not even remotely catchy, melody. The singer’s voice is neither smooth nor flattering.
Yet, When She’s Near is an enjoyable and memorable experience.
It’s an uncommon ode that describes a strangely routine though incredibly romantic feeling we all seem to take for granted.
