As one of the most intense academic weeks of the school year ended, students were rewarded with a winter dance themed “Sweet Escape”. The dance was held on Friday, January 29, 2010 in the gym from 8-11 pm.
The gym was decorated with life-size candy cut-outs, which were placed on the ceiling. During the dance, CO2 gas was dispensed into the air, which made the dance floor turn completely white. It was impossible to see in front of you for a couple of seconds. Freshman Hanna Magana said, “the theme was good but I really didn\’t know how to dress up like a candy so I wore bright colored clothes.”
The dance was on the last day of finals, which would explain the small attendance. Junior David Coulter said“there where not enough people, so it felt lame in a way, but other than that it was fun.” Jasmine Boller (11) said, “Though there weren\’t enough people at the dance, it was still a lot of fun. The music was good most of the night.”
Though Sweet Escape was not really a great success, many people left the dance happy because they had a great time.
