Here are your morning announcements for Monday, March 22nd, 2010:

Congratulations to our Competition Song Team who placed first at the Best of the West Invitational last night! This was a great momentum builder for them as they head to Nationals this weekend! Great job ladies!

Congratulations to the dance team for an awesome job at the Miss Dance Drill National competition. They brought home a first place trophy for their officers\’ routine and large hip hop routine.

Kelela Batinga placed 1st in her solo category and Sarah Hong placed 4th. The team also was awarded a 2nd place international trophy. Great job Girls!!!

Congratulations to both our Percussion and Color Guard for placing well this weekend in two different tournaments. Both groups of the Fountain Valley Royal Regiment performed their best of the year.

Are you interested in being on ASB Administration next year? Come by the activities office and pick up an ASB Handbook. All materials are due this Friday, March 26th. Please see Mrs. Krimker if you have any questions.

Baron Cheer and Song Leader Candidates – It’s not too late! The Fountain Valley High School Pep Squad is looking for great cheerleaders and song leaders for the upcoming school year. Could you be ready to wear the Baron uniform? Members perform at athletic events, school assemblies and community events. They participate in philanthropic efforts, fundraising and various school activities. All interested FVHS students (currently enrolled, or in-coming) should see Ms. Dubel in Room 410 as soon as possible to pick up an audition packet. Experience in dance, tumbling and cheerleading is desired, but not required. Audition Packets are due April 2nd!

Starting Wednesday, the cafeteria will be serving orange chicken daily, teriyaki rice bowls will be made on Monday & Wednesdays only.

AP exam fees are due this week by March 26. Pay at the financial office or at the online student store.

Data-Match results are here! Stop by room 131 or at the Senior Commission table at lunch to pick yours up. Results are $2 for school-wide matches and $3 for those and your grade-level matches.

Creative Visions, the district art show will be held at the district office March 26th to April 15th. Celebrating 2 and 3 dimensional art from all 6 high schools, the Gala will take place March 26th from 5-7 pm. Don\’t miss this great show!

Sadie’s for the Win is around the corner! The Olympic-themed girl-ask-guy dance will be this Saturday, March 27 from 8-11 in the gym. Doors will close at 9:30 and there will be a shoe check in. Tickets are $12 pre-sale and $15 at the door. Looking for some healthy competition? Challenge your date in the inflatable obstacle course. But get there early since the obstacle course will only be up between 8 and 10. If you’re feeling more romantic, stop by the winner’s circle to get married for the night. Only students who bring a signed permission slip will be able to participate in the obstacle course. Permission slips are only available with the purchase of pre-sale tickets. Dance contracts are due by Wed. March 24 by 3 pm and detentions must be cleared by Thursday, March 25 by 3 pm. Tickets will be on sale between Monday March 22 and Friday, March 26. Again, pre-sale tickets are $12, at the door $15.

Attention Seniors interested in attending the OCC field trip. Today is the last day to pick up your permission slip to attend the OCC Senior Day Field trip! No permission slip-NO FIELD trip. Please see Mr. Walters in the Career Center for your permission slip today!

After Sadies come support CSF by dining at the Denny\’s on Brookhurst from 11:00pm to 3:00am. 15% of your bill will go to the California Scholarship Federation to honor seniors! Support your fellow Barons!

Attention Sophomore Commission Members, there will be a meeting on Tuesday 03/30 at lunch in Mrs. Williams’ room 221. See you there!

Baron Banner is hosting a fundraiser this Wednesday, March 24th at Soup Plantation from 5:00-8:00pm. Hope to see you there Barons!

It\’s time to pick your favorite teacher of the Year. Each year PTSA honors two teachers, one veteran and one new teacher, neither of which has won the award previously. Fountain Valley High School PTSA recognizes the important role that professional educators have in our school and want all students, parents and staff members to take this opportunity to identify two of our teachers by nominating the “best of the best”. Ballots and ballot boxes are located in the Activities Office and in the Main Office. Nomination Forms must be placed in the ballot boxes by April 1st.
