Here are your morning announcements for Friday, April 2nd, 2010:

Congratulations to the men’s and women’s track teams for defeating Los Al. The boys won 75 to 55 and were led by Larson, Morales, Sese, and Hassan. The girls won 76-54 and were led by Martinez, Asuega, Hsu, Haydock, Ducat, Abby Burr, Paxson, and Trinh. Both teams are undefeated going into a huge meet with Marina after Spring Break.

The Fountain Valley High School Pep Squad is looking for great cheerleaders and song leaders for the upcoming school year. All interested FVHS students (currently enrolled, or in-coming) should see Ms. Dubel in Room 410 as soon as possible to pick up an audition packet. Experience in dance, tumbling and cheerleading is desired, but not required. Audition Packets are due today!

The first annual DISTRICT WIDE FILM FESTIVAL is open to ALL students. Enter a two to seven minute video of any genre and win a cash prize and a showcase of your video in front of major film schools. Your school’s film or art department will win a cash prize too. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to show us what you’ve got! And you can have more than one entry. Applications are in the activities office. (4/15)

Here are your morning announcements for Wednesday, March 31st, 2010:

FYI: Due to the EFM program FVHS will only be accessible by traveling north on Bushard and passing through Talbert on Thursday, April 1st.

EFM: Juniors & Seniors only. It may rain tomorrow during EFM. Dress appropriately. Thursday, April 1st is Regular Schedule for the EFM re-enactment. Report to your 3rd period class. Your teacher will take you out to the staging area. Friday, April 2nd is Regular Schedule for the EFM assembly. Report to your 2nd period class. Your teacher will take you to the gym after roll. Please leave your belongings in the classroom each day. You will have time tor retrieve them after EFM activities.

Are you interested in advancing from your college prep English class to an AP or Honors class next year? If so, you must complete the application process by printing the application from the website, gathering information about yourself as a student, and by taking the essay scheduled for April 22nd after school in the library. There are a limited number of spaces in the AP Honors classes and fulfilling the requirements does not guarantee admission.

We have changed the Saturday School schedule. There are now TWO
Saturday Schools before Prom. They are on April 24 and May1. There is no Saturday School scheduled on May 8th. Come to supervision if you have questions.

Nominate your favorite teacher of the Year. Ballots and ballot boxes are located in the Activities Office and in the Main Office. Nomination Forms must be placed in the ballot boxes by tomorrow, April 1st.

Congratulations to Wesley Mann for winning the Bag Pipe solo Championships Saturday in Riverside. He won all divisions and was named Best Piper of the Day in this major competition.

The Career Center is hosting Mr. Craig Ritter a former FVHS student and current Fireman with the Fountain Valley Fire Department. He will be on campus, tomorrow, March 30th. If you are interested in becoming a fireman or paramedic you should definitely attend. Please stop by the Career Center to sign up if you are interested in attending this presentation.

Attention Sophomore Commission Members, there will be a meeting tomorrow, Tuesday 03/30 at lunch in Mrs. Williams’ room 221. See you there!
