ASB Interview: Quinton Dang

With ASB elections over, the Baron Banner was able to take some time and get to know the 2010-2011 school year Vice President, Quinton Dang.

QD: Thank you! It\’s such an honor to be part of ASB!

BB: How did you feel when you found out that you made it?

QD: I was ecstatic when I found out! It was so amazing and I was happy that all my hard work paid off. I wasn\’t completely happy, though. It was extremely sad to see the people who didn\’t make it in walk away. Everyone was qualified and deserved to make it!
BB: How did you prepare to run for ASB Executive?

QD: Well, it was a lot of work. First, we had to fill out a packet that included an essay. We also went through a nerve-wracking interview that was completely serious. If we made it past that, we had to start (our campaign) by designing flyers and writing a speech. I also created shirts, organized them and gave them out to my friends; as well as worked through spring break and school nights to make the flyers and put them on the walls at school!

BB: What leadership skills do you possess to be a great ASB executive?

QD: I know I love to speak in public and cooperate with other people. I am hardworking, so I know I can get things done! I also am organized and work well under pressure.

BB: What qualities do you have that will make you great for this position?

QD: I know I can do it because I\’ve had experience for it! I am currently Friday Night Live\’s Vice President, and I truly love the club. I\’m also great at giving advice and figuring out real life problems.

BB: What profession do you want to pursue as a career?

QD: I\’m still unsure about my career, but it probably will have to do something with business or medicine. I\’m also thinking about looking into communications, because I enjoy interacting with other people!

BB: Do you have a favorite quote or something you live by?

QD: I love many quotes, but one of my favorites is “You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take.” – Wayne Gretzky

BB: What is your favorite food?

QD: I love all food in general, but some of my favorites include crawfish and chocolate fondue! Not together of course. I\’m making myself hungry.

BB: If you could be any Disney character, who would you want to be and why?

QD: I would have to say Russell from Up. He gets all the ladies.
