Dorothy Nguyen
by Noushin Adhoot
Dorothy is definitely a multifaceted person. At first she strikes you as an overachiever filling up on as many APs as the eye can see with a schedule that would surely make the average student tremble. However, when you look further, you shall see that this is just one side of Miss Dorothy Nguyen.
Unlike many of us city-folk that squirm at the thought of camping, Dorothy thrives in nature. In fact, she may even be immune to the forces of nature like a female version of Bear Grylls.
When she’s not out rasseling salmon in the wilderness, Dorothy likes to read Harry Potter or Jane Austen. Although she is not one of those HP addicts that dress in costumes, Dorothy is so captivated by JK Rowling’s creativity that she couldn’t help but join in on the fun by reading fan fiction. Her favorites include the blasphemous coupling of Ginny Weasley and He Who Shall Not Be Named.
While she loves reading, Dorothy also loves to kick back and turn up some K-pop or soft rock. Her favorite rock band is The Fray. In addition, Dorothy loves to be entertained by thriller movies, her favorite being Red Eye with Racheal McAdams.
For the future, Dorothy is shooting for the stars. She dreams of one day graduating from Cornell University and becoming a true East Coast Gal. A lover of the sciences, Dorothy would love to pursue a career as a radiologists paving the way in cancer treatment. Until then, Dorothy keeps active as a dedicated board member of both CSF and Interact.
This year being her first as member of the Baron Banner, Dorothy brings students a fresh perspective adding the title of writer to her repertoire.
